Potassium iodide

Potassium iodide. Kalii iodidum. Kalium iodatum.

Form of release of medicine. Powder, 3% aqueous solution in bottles on 10 ml.

Use and doses of drug. Outwardly in combination with iodine (see Lugol Solution); ointment for an epilation of hair; inside on 0,3 — 1 g 3 — 4 times a day after food (to wash down with milk or kissel).

Effect of the medicine. Potassium iodide locally renders less expressed irritant action on a mucous membrane rezorbtivno — see Solution of iodine of spirit 5%.

Indications to use. Hyperthyroidism, local craw, tertiary syphilis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, rheumatism, cataract, glaucoma, actinomycosis of lungs and other fungus diseases, mastopathy.
