Viral hepatitis (Hepatites virae)

Viral epidemic hepatitis (infectious disease) - the acute infectious disease caused by hepatotropic viruses, endemo - epidemic character, having a long incubation, a short prodromal stage and proceeding with the phenomena of the general intoxication, painful increase in a liver and frequent jaundice. Viral (infectious) hepatitis (infectious disease) as separate nosological unit is allocated in the years of World War II and now under this name entered the international nomenclature of infectious diseases.

Association of numerous jaundices in one nosological unit of the infectious nature predicted still the joint venture. Botkin in the early eighties last century. "Clinical lectures" (1888) he wrote to the: "Thus, I came gradually to the conclusion that catarral jaundice which was considered before for gastrointestinal Qatar with a mechanical scholia actually is only one of symptoms of the general disease... In a word, it is an acute infectious form...". "If somebody told me that the yellow hepatatrophia is only the highest extent of those changes which we had at catarral jaundice, then I would not begin to object to it". Therefore, the viral hepatitis can by the right be called an infectious disease.

Now allocate 7 types of a viral hepatitis - A, B, C, D, E, F, G. From them, till 1989 kliniko-only hepatitises A and B were laboratory identified, and the others integrated the general concept "Hepatitis And, In". In recent years there was perhaps laboratory detection of markers of all types of viruses, except for the causative agent of a viral hepatitis of F. Therefore, now an acute viral hepatitis is provided by a number of independent diseases. Their short characteristic is provided in table 1
